Financial Literacy: What U-Reporters Have to Say
  • What is something about personal finances that you wish you knew more about?
  • • How to invest money
  • • How to budget, manage, and save money effectively
  • • How to file taxes and how taxes work
  • • How to get a loan and pay off debt

  • What do you want the government/decision-makers to understand about young people’s financial situations right now?
  • • School curriculums need to focus more on financial literacy. Many young people do not have the knowledge and understanding required to manage money, and it’s challenging to find information/ resources that are free and objective.
  • • Young people today are facing a different economy than previous generations. It’s difficult to enter the job market, and many young people’s wages are not enough to afford cost of living.
  • • More bursaries, scholarships, and support with student debt are needed. Tuition fees are too high for many to afford and finding a job after post-secondary school is not a certainty.
See by the numbers how we are engaging youth voices for positive social change.
